The plate is split 1/3 of its height to allow viewing of the firing pin and firing pin. Our plate is slightly wider than the Glock plate. This thickness will move the firing pin leg forward a bit so we will increase the thickness of this plate. Moving the slide pin indicates where the trigger will release the slide pin. When reloading your Glock's slim black plate by moving it slightly forward, you get more adjustment on the Trigger Control Tab (TCT). When you shorten the TCT enough for the gun to fire, you need to remove the orange plate and replace it with your Glock's black plate. The Glock plate is thinner so your gun should still fire but you may feel a load (load = you pull the trigger, it stops at the TCT, then you add more force or charge to the trigger to make the gun fire). If this is the case, remove the connector again and make the final fit by removing the very small TCT.
